Inspired by our design-savvy but budget-conscious customers, we introduce a new column called, you guessed it, High & Low.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s MR Chaise Lounge was designed in 1927 as part of his contribution to the Weissenhof exhibit in Stuttgart, Germany. Inspired by the lines of tubular iron rockers designed in Europe during the mid-19th century, Mies incorporated a new material and a new technology in the use of the cantilever principle to create an intuitively accessible and ergonomic seat.
How Do They Compare?
$$$ The MR Chaise Lounge is perfectly balanced, featuring the material innovation and lack of ornamentation that epitomize the International Style.
$ The Rhumba chaise is sleek and sexy with a shape that curves to you as you lay. Made with a shiny leatherette seat and chrome steel legs, it comes in black or white upholstery and includes a head pillow.
